While the Maricopa Historical Society has canceled or postponed much of its spring events as a precaution against COVID-19, it has tacitly continued some programs, such as the refurbishment of California’s Zephyr Silver Horizon railcar. This includes removing damaged, 70-year-old windows in the car along the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The windows will be temporarily replaced with plastic covers prior to the project so that the panes will be replaced by vintage train experts. A donation before the coronavirus outbreak pays a large part of the work.
