Miami, Florida – Two 35-year-old men from South Florida tried before the Ft. Lauderdale for participating in two robberies that culminated in a carjacking and the murder of a plumber in Miami.
According to Factual Proffers signed by Jamal Lamar Head and Keon Travy Glanton on July 11, 2018, Head and Glanton worked together to steal valuable plumbing equipment from a roto-root plumber in Riviera Beach, Florida. Head and Glanton lured the roto-root plumber to an abandoned residence in Riviera Beach, where Head attacked him with a gun. Valuable sanitary facilities have been removed from the vehicle.
The Factual Proffers also state that Head and Glanton planned to rob another plumber the following day, July 12, 2018, this time from an empty house in Miami Lakes, Florida. After Head and Glanton called several plumbers, plumber “LSH” agreed to come to the Miami Lakes home to do some plumbing. When LSH arrived, Head forced LSH into another vehicle at gunpoint while Glanton drove away in LSH’s sanitary truck.
Head started driving LSH away from the scene, and LSH struggled with Head. Head then shot LSH once in the chest and twice in the stomach and crashed his car into a tree. Head fled the scene and called Glanton, who was returning to the area in LSH’s van to pick up Head. Head and Glanton then fled the area together. They later drove to another area of Miami, where they doused LSH’s van with gasoline and set it on fire.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found LSH’s body in the back seat of Head’s vehicle. LSH was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner found that LSH’s cause of death was blood loss from the three gunshot wounds.
Crimes Glanton and Head are found guilty of include conspiracy to commit a robbery under the Hobbs Act, fatal carjacking, and surrendering a gun to promote a violent crime. Glanton entered his guilty plea on April 2, 2021 and is reportedly reported by U.S. District Judge Roy K. Altman, who is based in Ft. Lauderdale, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Head entered his guilty plea last month and is due to be sentenced by Judge Altman on July 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
