NEWCASTLE, Wash. – The King County Sheriff’s Office issues a warning after responding to a recent home break-in.
On October 28, MPs answered a call in Newcastle after a homeowner reported the attempted break-in.
An unknown suspect got into the victim’s vehicle, picked up the garage door opener, and then entered the victim’s home through the garage.
The suspect accidentally set off the home’s alarm and fled the scene in a dark pickup truck of an older model.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office recommended that you take your garage door opener inside at night to prevent potential intruders from gaining access to your home.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office.
