SAP, Comcast and Power Home Remodeling made Fortune again on Fortune’s list of Best Workplaces in 2021

For a few years capital Magazine list of the 100 best companies to work for in the country has contained a handful of the same Philly region businesses.

And this year it doesn’t seem to be any different – Comcast, JUICE and Power home remodeling all made the list again. Wawa Competitor SheetzThe Altoona-based company is the only other Pennsylvania-based company to make the list in 2021.

This year’s list comes after more than a year of COVID-19 shutdowns being carried out from home and in business. The ranking was based on surveys of half a million employees on issues of trustworthiness, care and fairness in times of crisis, as well as the physical, emotional and financial health of employees and the company’s broader impact on society. Fortune also changed its essay question to focus on actions specifically taken in response to the 2020 challenges.

“The takeaway seems clear: Companies that treat employees well during the toughest times will attract talent even as the talent war intensifies,” wrote Fortune.

Comcast ranked 21st in 2021, many more than 64 last year. The magazine noted the growing demand for entertainment and networking, noting that Comcast is currently adding 1,000 new Wi-Fi enabled “Lift Zones” in the US. Comcast currently has 168,000 employees. This is the company’s fourth year on the list.

SAP, with its North American headquarters in Newtown Square, was ranked 29th compared to 59th last year. Fortune praised the company’s promise not to lose jobs during the pandemic, instead adding nearly 2,010 employees in North America. It is the fifth year on the list of the company with a total of 22,240 US employees.

And Power Home Remodeling landed for the fifth time on the Fortune list at number 70 from number 50 in 2020. Fortune celebrated the Chester company bringing all employees back after a vacation. Power employs 2,475 US people.
