ARTICLE CONTENT – The benefit of good-looking landscaping is not to be underestimated when it comes to adding value to a home or business, and for communities with HOAs, it can have a dramatic impact on the residential values of the entire neighborhood.

“When you have a nice lawn, this is the first thing that shows up when someone walks into a project or your home,” says Todd Bristol, owner of Proforma Landscape and Design in St. George.

Bristol told St. George News that landscaping is about attention to detail and that the property is weed-free, clean, properly trimmed, beautiful and healthy. But more than that, he said, it’s about making sure that everything “looks good up to the doors”.

With temperatures soaring dramatically over the next few weeks, Bristol says now is the right time for property owners to address potential landscape issues and prevent easy-to-solve problems from reaching a point of no return. If plants or lawns are dry and already looking unhealthy, they will die and be lost when the real heat of summer sets in.

“There are ways to save problems with the lawn, but when it gets later in summer it will be really difficult to save and you will have to wait until fall.”

Proforma Landscape & Design has been in the Utah market since 1990 and has acquired a number of HOAs in the area that have been plagued by landscape issues, causing frustration for residents and property owners.

One of the HOAs they currently serve in Santa Clara has about 100 units and had all sorts of problems when they took over the account. It had poor coverage and numerous dead spots, Bristol said, but within a year of a major overhaul of the system the property now looks fantastic.

“There are many complexities when it comes to pressure and flow in a sprinkler system,” he said, adding that experience is one of the top reasons to choose a reliable and honest landscaping company.

“The HOA board and homeowners loved it, but we had to do some very creative things to make it green. The pressure was good, but the flow wasn’t very good, ”he said.

Another of Proforma’s newest customers first had one of its competitors come out to bid and informed the owner that their system was in total loss and would need a full replacement, with an estimate of $ 20,000 for repairs. At first glance, Bristol said this must be a mistake – he knew that as long as there were lines in the ground, nothing had to be “made from scratch”.

For just $ 2,000, proforma got the job done and finished it right.

Bristol said they are able to get on a project when all else has failed and fix a problem.

“We were able to fix the problem for everyone without exception.”

Proforma Landscape & Design has all the necessary licenses – including pest control – and Bristol said if someone is dissatisfied with their current landscaping service or just wants a second opinion they welcome them for a free consultation or advice ask estimate for an annual contract to maintain their property.

“Now is the perfect time for people who want to change something,” he said. “IIf someone is even slightly dissatisfied, it wouldn’t hurt for someone with experience like me to come out and give them a rating. Don’t charge them a dime – just come out and say, “I would suggest you do this.”

He also loves helping property owners bring their imaginations to life by helping to design and install new additions to their projects. His offerings are extremely affordable and he never skims or sacrifices for the final product. He said he believed that if you want something to turn out really well you should do it from the start, never cut corners and stick it out to make sure the job is done to the satisfaction of the owner.

“I have to put myself in the shoes of the homeowner,” he said. “If this was my home, would I feel good leaving it like that?”
