Pinterest has launched a new tool to help you turn your collection of home renovation ideas into an actual plan of action – Chase Dream Boards.
Pinterest is a great place to build mood boards that you can use to plan the home renovation project that you will “someday” complete – tasteful color schemes, cunning Ikea furniture hacks, and – but how often do you actually do something with them?
Pinterest partnered with Chase Home Lending and Home Improvement Experts Drew and Jonathan Scott (hosts on TV show Property Brothers) to build Chase Dream Boards to bring these ideas from your screen into your home.
Design competence
Share details of your renovation including your budget, the scope of your project and the space you are working on and the tool will create a custom Pinterest board for you that will give you comprehensive information about funding the work, finding contractors and adding information informs value for your home. You can then add your own Pins to create a complete plan.
“Pinterest has […] It’s proven to be an ideal platform to hold your own in front of millennials and first-time buyers, especially since many “starter houses” require some TLC after they move in, “said Amy Bonitatibus, marketing and communications director for residential property at JPMorgan Chase, told TechRadar.
“We know these shoppers rely heavily on online tools for design and purchase inspiration. What’s unique about Chase Dream Boards is that it brings together three trusted companies in the home market – visual design ideas from Pinterest, design and home improvement expertise across the Scott Brothers and Chase financial know-how, what good is a vision if you can’t make it happen? “
Dreams to reality
Chase Dream Boards had over 2,000 users in the first two weeks. “Our goal is to actively contribute to closing the gap between creative ideas and measures,” said Bonitatibus. “We hope this tool can reduce the stress of home remodeling through a fun, interactive, and useful web platform that educates customers about the potential cost of the project and smart financing options.”
If you’re looking for more inspiration, Pinterest added a More Ideas button this week that shows Pins inspired by elements already on each of your boards. You can find the option under the name of the board next to “Your Pins”.
Chase has other plans in the works with Pinterest and the Scott brothers – again with the aim of helping you plan and design your ideal home. Keep an eye on Pinterest’s news feed for details.
