Staying for a year during the pandemic has shown most of us that putting on 10 pounds is easy when we spend more time at home.
I suggest that this Easter we ditch the gift basket full of chocolates and sweets and replace it with a personalized collection of useful items that will help make the time at home more enjoyable. Here are six fun ideas for Peter Rabbit to put on the porches of everyone on your list – and to be honest, having a few surprising chocolate Easter eggs on the bottom of each basket is always a great bite!
Bread basket
As can be seen from social media, many people have become baking experts making everything from banana breads to challah. Once you’ve mastered the art of making delicious sourdough bread, the next step is to make it look like it was plucked from the window of an award-winning bakery.
Danica’s Rattan Bread Proofing Bowl gives the sourdough a place to rise and ensures that a circular pattern is embossed on the top of the bread when it is folded out and baked. To complete the basket, add a couple of natural linen tea towels and a bag of rice flour – rice flour browns at a much higher temperature than regular flour, so it’s great for dusting the dough before baking to reveal the rings or other designs lighter and better on your bread. The grateful recipient will be posting award-winning breads on Instagram in no time!

Bevvie basket
Whether it is tea or coffee, the art of the brew was enhanced while we were working or spending more time at home. Hamilton Beach’s gooseneck kettle (often referred to as the pour-over kettle) provides tea and coffee connoisseurs with the slow pour-over experience required to prepare the perfectly brewed cup of tea or coffee.
Accompany the kettle with some eco-friendly, unbleached paper filters, a personalized bag of tea or coffee, a special mug and this gift basket with everything you need to sip slowly at home.
Pampering basket
Sometimes the only recourse to a small, busy house is to soak in the tub for an hour. Start this basket with an eco-friendly bamboo bath tray (this one from Marshalls cost less than $ 20) so your recipient can convert their bathtub into a spa kit for relaxing at home. When you add a good book, bath salts, and a scented tealight candle, you’ve given someone an hour of solitude without leaving your home.

Basket bonanza
Since the spring weather makes it easier and safer to be outside, here are some Easter basket ideas that will make it stylish and easy to be outside.
– Create a shopping bag with a light picnic blanket, gourmet snacks, and a bottle of wine to encourage a socially aloof trip to the back yard or local park.
– For the lover of the great outdoors, fill a basket with two water bottles, belt pouches and a bag of fruit and nut snacks – this gift will keep the active ones on the go!
– For those who are always in the car, put together an Easter basket with accessories for the glove compartment: sterile hand towels, tissue paper, a lint roller and an attachable air freshener (goodbye, dangling little trees!).
