FLINT, MI – A downtown Flint restaurant known for its deli sandwiches has expanded its business.
Hoffmans Deco Deli & Cafe, 444 S. Saginaw St., in downtown Flint, recently installed a garage door with glass windows.
The new addition creates a new backdrop for customers to see while eating outside the restaurant. When the garage door opens, fresh air can flow through the store.
“I wanted to do an open air dining theme so we could feel more indoors and outdoors,” said owner Heath Hoffman. “It opens it up more and brings a breeze. It brings a really cool look. I think it will be great for the summer. “
The door was installed by Chad Hopkins Custom Doors, according to a Facebook post from the company.
Some of the menu items the store offers include the hard disk, a ham, turkey, roast beef with provolone, and cheddar cheese topped with lettuce, tomato, and homemade dill mayo; and the Weatherball, a sandwich with turkey and bacon, Swiss cheese, cucumber, ranch seasoning, lettuce, tomato and homemade dill mayo.
The shop also offers a sandwich of the month called the Grand Slam. It includes grilled chicken, bacon, Swiss cheese, grilled pineapple, tiger sauce, red onions, and lettuce on a grilled pretzel bun.
Proceeds from the sale of this sandwich will help the Miracle League of Greater Flint create physical activity opportunities for children with intellectual and physical disabilities and enable them to play Miracle League baseball regardless of their skill level, Hoffman said.
