Texas Legends are proud to announce a unique new partnership with Legacy Plumbing. At the heart of the partnership is the Legacy of Kindness movement, a comprehensive activation that aims to spread kindness at a time when the world needs it most.
Legacy Plumbing has worked with the Legends for eight years and has always focused their partnership around community activations – co-founding the Mission of the Month program, supporting three for charities, and hosting a variety of nonprofits at games.
“Our partnership with Legacy has always been about improving the community around us,” said Malcolm Farmer, president of Legends. “It is important to the Young family that this partnership is always greater than the marketing of their company. This year we made this a broader need that we thought would affect everyone. “
Legacy Plumbing is a family-run company that has served the North Dallas area for more than 15 years. Although their headquarters are in Frisco, Legacy is focused on influencing all of the communities they serve. With strong values backed by a stronger culture, Legacy employees support the vision: the Legacy Way.
“The Youngs have built such a strong corporate culture in their business that you can trust that each and every employee cares about their values. They are really changing the way business is done in this area and we are proud to work with such an organization. “
The Kindness Movement was born out of the desire of both organizations to bring about real change in the community.
“We sat down with our staff when the pandemic first started and had a family discussion,” said Michelle Young, owner of Legacy Plumbing. “We all made up our minds to make it, we had to focus on the positive. Focus on what we can change, not what is out of our control. We started looking for little ways we can make a positive change, simple things we can do for our customers and our community to make their world a little better. “
The kindness movement focuses on highlighting kindness in others while inspiring the community to keep spreading what everyone needs.
“With that mission in mind, we thought the Legacy of Kindness Movement was the perfect opportunity to team up with the Legends and expand the platform.”
The Kindness Movement will celebrate stories of kindness through the website www.LegacyofKindness.net. Stories are selected and celebrated by the Legends and Legacy in games and online. The two teams have also teamed up to create Kindness Cards, which are given out for kind gestures and which reward those deeds with gifts from Legacy and other Legends partners.
The Legacy of Kindness Movement will also enable community-wide service events throughout the year. For the first event, the two organizations hosted a drive-through dinner donation for Thanksgiving dinner on November 19 at the Comerica Center.
