Cubs Announce New Cub Together Holiday Marketing Campaign, Fan Sweepstakes and Wrigley Field Brick Paver Program

Apocryphal legend has it that John Lennon caught a terrible cold the first time he recorded one of the Beatles’ strangest songs. As a result, it sounded like he was exhorting the audience to “Cub together”. Okay, that may not apply to the song originally recorded as the anthem for Timothy Leary’s campaign against Ronald Reagan for the governor of California. Those efforts ended when Leary was arrested for possession of marijuana.

However, the phrase itself is real and is being used as the Cubs’ new marketing campaign. The team announced on Monday that “Cub Together” is a celebration of what connects us even at a time when it is important that we stay apart. As stated in the press release, this campaign is inspired by the many ways fans continue to express their love for Cubs baseball as we await the moment we can “Cub Together” in person again at Wrigley Field .

They also announced the giveaway gift presented by Toyota, which gives fans the opportunity to win a variety of prizes to give to or share with a loved one this holiday season. Starting Monday, December 7th at 10 a.m. CST, fans will be able to attend Gift of giving side Select the “Starting Grid,” which consists of nine gifts or experiences, ranging from a personalized Wrigley Field Marquee photo and cobblestone kit to an opportunity to play catch on Wrigley Field, practice passes with Wrigley Rooftop tickets and a weekend stay at the hotel is enough for Zachary in a junior suite and more.

Fans can choose up to nine different options from different gifts and experiences, or they can choose the same gift or experience up to nine times to increase their chances of winning. The winners will receive a gift for themselves and one to give to a loved one. The competition runs Monday, December 7th at 10 a.m. CT through Monday, December 14th at 11:59 p.m. CT. The winners will be contacted on or around Tuesday, December 15th.

The final part of Monday’s announcement is that the Cubs are bringing back the Wrigley Field Brick Paver program for the holiday season. Starting Thursday December 10th, fans will be able to purchase a personalized, engraved paving stone to commemorate their fandom and part of Wrigley Field’s legacy. Brick Maker Packages are available for $ 199 while supplies last. This includes an installed brick, a replica brick shipped to the buyer’s home, and a certificate of appreciation.

Additional items, including an additional replica stone and display case, can also be purchased. Purchased paving blocks will be installed at Wrigley Field ahead of the 2022 regular season.
