CES 2021: Lutron introduces new intelligent outdoor connector for the Caséta lighting system

Lutron, best known for its Caséta smart home lighting products, today announced the upcoming launch of the Caséta Outdoor Smart Plug.

The Caséta Outdoor Smart Plug has a water and dust resistance according to IP-65, which enables it to be protected even in the rain. Lutron says it is built to last and will withstand severe weather “season after season”.

The Smart Plug can be used for Christmas lights, fairy lights, some motors and pumps, and other outdoor lighting options. It’s HomeKit compatible and can be controlled in the Home app or through the Lutron app for planning purposes. There is a built-in intelligent timer that keeps the correct time all year round, including summer time.

The Caséta Outdoor Smart Plug can be used with a Lutron Smart Bridge to increase reliability and responsiveness. The plug can also be combined with other Caséta lighting products.

Lutron will begin selling the Caséta Outdoor Smart Plug on Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe’s in late March. It is priced at $ 79.95.
