ACE Plumbing was the big winner on Wednesday night when Kelowna Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Excellence Awards.

The company, which was started by Ray Walters in 1979 and is now run by son Brian, captured the chamber’s Large Business of the Year award, edging out Cintas Canada and Valley First for the honour.

It was one of 16 awards dished out in front of a crowd of more than 400 people at the Delta Grand.

“It was a great evening—a great opportunity to celebrate the resilience of area businesses,” chamber president Pamela Pearson said.

Tranq Sleep Care was named the top medium-sized business, while Modern PURAIR captured the Small Business of the Year award.

The Young Entrepreneur of the Year award went to Courtney Yoga of CrAsian Foods. A new award this year was Indigenous Business of the Year, which went to Moccasin Trails.
