22 Valentine’s Day date night ideas at home, from a spa experience to fine dining

We love a Valentine’s Day date night. Who does not? The opportunity to step out of your daily routine, put on your cheerful rags (or jeans and a t-shirt, you can wear anything you want on date night!) And have a romantic and fun evening with your significant other like you, don’t worry in the world. Unfortunately, this year’s Valentine’s Day is going to be like no other and we won’t be able to celebrate like we normally would. But don’t let that stop you from partying!

Restaurants and bars might not be in sight for now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have an incredible Valentine’s Day at home. We’ve put together a list of fun home dating ideas and activities that you can enjoy without leaving home, whether you’re partying with your other half, friends, roommates, or family.

1

breakfast in bed

We don’t know about you, but breakfast is our favorite meal of the day. Croissants, coffee, eggs and orange juice, we can’t think of anything better … except breakfast in bed. Don’t forget the flowers on the bedside table for extra romance!

2

Imagine you are in Paris

The City of Love might not be within reach this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t experience food, drink, and culture from the comfort of your home. Recover your favorite French dish, have a delicious wine and play your favorite Parisian movie. And no, we don’t mean Emily in Paris.

3

Romantic walk

Make your daily walk a romantic experience and visit your favorite beauties.

4th

Treasure hunt

Send your significant other on a scavenger hunt around your house. Give them clues with romantic notes and petals. When you’re feeling really romantic, leave champagne and strawberries in your last stash.

5

Spa experience

Turn your home into your favorite evening spa by lighting a few candles, putting face masks on each other, and pouring yourself champagne. You end your home date feeling revitalized and refreshed.

6th

Sing out your hearts

You’ve likely heard each other’s singing skills in the shower, but now it’s time to step up the performance of your life. Hit play on some karaoke classics, pour a glass of Dutch courage and let the karaoke fight begin. We highly recommend Whitney Houston’s “I want to dance with someone”. Our neighbors, on the other hand …

7th

Conquer your favorite cocktail

Cocktails never taste that good at home, but that will soon change. Fill your fridge with cocktail ingredients and sample each other’s favorites – it’s like having your own personal bar service at home.

8th

Good food in your living room

Experience fine dining from the comfort of your own home. Chef Louisa Ellis will cook your delicious three-course meal and deliver it to your doorstep. All you have to do is follow Louis’ simple instructions to warm up each class, set the table and get dressed. Minimum effort, maximum taste.

9

Get artistic

Draw each other. Really. This can be very romantic or very offensive, depending on your artistic ability (and how good you are feeling). Either way, it’s a fun activity and you could frame your finished masterpieces if you’re still together by the end of the evening.

10

Thematic film evenings

We imagine you’ve made your way through every crime documentary, 90s rom-com series, and binge-worthy Netflix series in 2020, like us, but it’s time to take it one step further. Make an evening out of it by choosing a legendary movie, dressing up as your favorite characters, and getting snacks and drinks to match. If you have the best costume, you can skip washing up.

11

Recreate your favorite restaurant

Forget about a reservation two weeks in advance and bring your favorite restaurant into your living room. Recreate your favorite dishes, pour wine, light candles, and play mood music – you’ll be able to eat both well and well without having to endure the tipsy bus ride home.

12th

Do like J-Lo and ARod and learn a dance routine

There’s a reason everyone was obsessed with TikTok dance routines in 2020 – they’re so much fun! The A-listeners couldn’t get enough, and neither could we. Top tip – the better you are, the funnier it is. Evaluate each other’s skills to improve our competitive sites.

13th

Have fun with a fondue

Any meal can be enhanced by adding cheese (in our opinion). Slice up some of your favorite snacks and dive in!

14th

Indoor picnic

The great thing about an indoor picnic is that you don’t have to rely on the weather. Put all of your favorite picnic groceries in one basket, make yourself comfortable on your living room floor, and pretend it’s a hot summer day.

15th

Bring the baking tent into your kitchen

Bring out your inner Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith and compete as a star baker in your own kitchen. Remember, no damp parts!

16

Become the wine connoisseur you always wanted to be

If getting to know wine was always on your to-do list, now is the time to start learning your Merlots from your Malbecs. Get wines you wouldn’t normally drink to make it more interesting. A sausage board is always (always repeat) a good idea.

17th

Give a room a new face

Transform a room in your home with a coat of paint. A fun evening that will check something off your to-do list. Go bright and bold to add a little pizazz to your home that will brighten any rainy day.

18th

Take a bouji bath together

Can you get more romantic (and relaxing) than taking a bath together? We don’t believe that. Add some petals, light some candles, pour a glass of wine and inhale some essential oils.

19th

Start a book club for couples

Arrange which book the two of you will read and schedule an appointment for your book club. Write questions and notes about the plot and characters and discuss your answers. Why not start with a classic none of you have read?

20th

Binge watch a box set

There’s nothing like getting lost in a box set. Pick your series, grab some snacks, and watch each episode in a row. We highly recommend The Crown. Season 4 is on Netflix, or if you only care about DVDs, seasons 1-3 are available now.

21

Learn a new hobby together

Spend time with your ‘SO’ while learning a new skill. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to play the guitar or paint ceramics is now on your bucket list.

22nd

Become a yoga bunny

Stretch out and get ready to show off your best downward facing dog to each other. Known for its mind and body benefits, end your date at home feeling rejuvenated … and a little bit sweaty. Namaste.
